Bobby Jones Drivers and Fairway Woods are the next generation of technology from an earlier Jesse Ortiz design that became the #1 fairway metal on Tour, from 1998 to 2001. Smaller in profile, but slightly deeper in face dimension, Players is designed with the look that Tour professionals prefer, while incorporating the critical weight distributions that enhance playability and forgiveness for mid- to high-handicap golfers. The clean, symmetrical shape of the heads, encourage easy alignment to the target, providing shot maneuverability that is uncommon in fairway metals. The sleek, tri-tiered power sole reduces drag in all turf conditions. The classically shaped, 440cc drivers feature two strategically positioned weight wcrews, of 2 (gold) and 12 (silver) grams, that expand the Triangle of Stability™, maximizing the accuracy-enhancing phenomenon known as the "gear effect." All clubs feature a deep, translucent "forest green" color, proprietary JS-6 (regular) and JS-7 (stiff) shafts by Graphite Design, and classic, heavy-knit headcovers.

Jesse Ortiz has spent 40 years improving the enjoyment, "tee to green", of millions of golfers. Best known as the chief designer of his family's Orlimar Golf Company until 2003, Ortiz has crafted designs used by over 1,000 tour professionals worldwide. His Tri-Metals became the Tour's number one fairway metal from 1998 to 2001. The entire line of Bobby Jones products use a breakthrough technology in metal design. Utilizing a patented brazing process, the fairway metals and hybrids feature a crown construction that allows for the transfer of over 30 grams to the rear soleplate area. The sound- and feel-enhancing maraging material is forged to a thickness of only 0.35 mm, versus a typical cast crown of 1.25 mm. This weight displacement lowers and deepens the center of gravity, increasing launch trajectory and minimizing spin for longer carry distance and softer landings. All fairway metals and hybrids feature Carpenter 465 maraging steel faces, milled to only 1.6 mm for maximum energy transfer and optimal ball compression.

The drivers are designed with graphite composite crowns and Russian beta titanium faces to redistribute weight to the rear of the clubhead, expanding the "Triangle of Stability™" for maximum forgiveness.
