The tee shot is only 155 yards but it must penetrate constantly swirling winds and find the shallowest target on the course, a foot-print shaped green that is fronted by a bunker and Rae's Creek and backed by another bunker and swale. Never has the Mater's been won at the hole, but it is here that several players have lost it.
