    :: EDITOR'S INSIGHT ::

    I recently sat in on a fitting we conducted at our Roger Dunn superstore in Santa Ana as my best friend got fit for the new TaylorMade R1 driver. He brought his driver in (Burner 07 TP) which he was hitting well but high. We went thru ALL of the new drivers for him to test and the R1 jumped out at him because of the super low spin. Still med-high launch but super low spin (like less than 1700 RPMs). He couldnt get over it. Turns out the fitting expert helping us out said that he has seen this time and time again with the new TaylorMade R1 driver. Guys gaining 15-20 yards in distance by knocking the spin completely down. Thats the word on the street! TO follow up: I played 18 with him last week and he was hitting bombs and beat me up pretty bad. I'd say it was worth him driving up from San Diego to get fit!
