Golf Drivers at WGS

We offer a massive catalog of golf drivers on our online store, and in our brick-and-mortar locations. This includes drivers from all major brands targeted toward each of the following golfers:

We typically carry the newest releases, as well as releases from a year or two in the past, with availability or prior generation drivers depending largely on remaining stock. No matter what kind of driver you’re looking for, we have it.

Pro Tips

  • Consider Your Goals: When buying a new driver, identify what you need to improve your score. If you’re struggling to hit straight consistently, forgiveness is probably what you need. If you find fairways often, but don’t hit as far as you’d like, you may need a lighter club with more focus on clubhead speed, spin reduction, and distance. If you are simply trying to work your shot a bit more, then workability and adjustability with a more compact clubhead is likely your goal.
  • Don’t Just Buy What’s On Tour: Tour players are almost always looking for a compact clubhead, maximum workability, and the lowest possible spin. Their needs aren’t always your needs, though, so don’t assume that the model your favorite golfer uses is “the best driver.” It may just be the best driver for them from the brand that they are sponsored by.
  • Get a Fitting at a Local Golf Shop: Every time you shop for a new driver, you should get a custom fitting to make sure it is the right club with the right specs for your swing. A “custom fitting” may sound like an added luxury, but they are actually completely free and are genuinely necessary if you want to get the absolute most out of your new driver.

Not only will a fitting allow you to try all the clubs you’re looking at, it will also take you through different shaft and grip options to make sure every spec is perfect for your swing.

Buyers’ Guide

We’ve made a guide that covers the most important aspects of how to choose a golf driver:

Loft: The angle of the face relative to the ground directly impacts the flight and trajectory of the golf ball.

Loft directly impacts the flight of the ball by changing the angle of the clubface at impact. Higher loft creates a higher ball flight, which can increase distance if you’re struggling to get the ball off the ground, but will limit maximum distance as you improve contact.

Forgiveness: The level of consistency on off-center strikes and launch assistance for golfers who struggle to get the ball off the ground.

Forgiveness is improved by moving weight lower and farther from the face of the club to increase MOI, increasing clubhead size, and using materials on the face that increase the size of the “sweet spot” for good contact.

Distance: How far a ball goes is based on clubhead speed, ball speed, launch angle, spin rate, and descent angle.

Distance can be improved by increasing clubhead speed with weight reduction, lowering spin by moving weight higher and closer to the clubface, and by using materials in the clubface that improve energy transfer at impact.

Workability: The ability to purposefully shape your shots with slight adjustments to your swing.

Workability is improved by using stiffer materials that allow small adjustments to affect ball flight path more effectively, reducing weight to make it easier to manipulate the clubhead, and by reducing overall clubhead size to make it more nimble and easy to adjust. Workability almost always comes at the cost of forgiveness, and vice-versa, so be careful when prioritizing workability if your contact pattern isn’t the most consistent.

Adjustability: Features that allow you to adjust the loft and CG of your driver will make it easier to adapt your club to the hole you’re playing and the shot shape that it requires.

Adjustability is added to a club with features like adjustable loft and lie sleeves, sliding weights on the club sole from on-the-fly CG adjustment, and interchangeable weights that allow for overall weight manipulation.
