Mizuno JPX919 Irons – Packed with Your Potential

Introducing the New JPX919 Tour, Hot Metal, and Forged Irons from Mizuno

Mizuno is well recognized as a top choice among Tour professionals when it comes to their irons. This highly trusted brand is renowned for crafting top-quality irons for low-handicap players, and those who prefer the look and feel of a Tour-caliber iron. Players recognize that unique sound and sensation through impact of a Mizuno. It’s unmistakable.

Brand ambassadors include Luke Donald, Nick Faldo, and Nick Watney, but it’s the trust that Brooks Koepka has shown in Mizuno’s irons that really sets them apart. The three-time major champion does not have an equipment deal with any one company, however, he’s carved up Erin Hills, Shinnecock, and Bellerive – with an unparalleled blend of power and precision – by utilizing Mizuno JPX900 series irons.

In creating this new line of irons, Mizuno relied on a comprehensive approach to research, technology, and construction, instead of a single, headline-grabbing one. And for them, it all starts with the base materials, three different types used in three different irons to be exact.

The new JPX919 Tour employ a 1025 mild carbon steel, while the JPX919 Hot Metal irons are constructed of a high-strength Chromoly 4140M, and the JPX919 Forged round out the series by utilizing Boron-infused steel.

The results are a series of streamlined irons that exceed expectations for feel, performance, and shotmaking capability.

JPX919 Tour

According to Mizuno, the JPX919 Tour irons offer “tour performance with precision distance control.” The head is constructed from a single billet of 1025E Pure Select mild carbon steel, which helps create what Mizuno calls its softest, purest feel yet.

Shotmakers take note, as this compact iron provides the capability to pull off any shot in your bag – high draws, low fades, stingers, and anything in between. However, even with its compact, tour-preferred size, because it’s open at the heel portion, it maintains a high level of stability through impact.

The JPX919 Tour comes in a much sought after pearl brush finish for increased durability and to help reduce the glare of its sharp and precise lines in the sun.

JPX919 Hot Metal

Combining an incredible balance of ball speed and launch angle, the JPX919 Hot Metal utilizes a high-strength Chromoly 4140M material with cup-face construction to produce what they say is the highest ball speed from any Mizuno iron.

But the real star of this show is the stability frame, again open at the heel portion, which helps players control launch and landing angles and ensure they’re able to land and hold greens. According to Chris Voshall, Senior Engineer, “We worked the design backwards from the correct landing angles. These are irons for the course, not just the launch monitor.”

For this set of irons, Mizuno also re-engineered the sound ribs to promote specific vibration patterns that give the irons a desired sound and sensation through impact – often described as that “Mizuno sensation.”

JPX919 Forged

For the JPX919 Forged, Mizuno added a trace amount of Boron to increase the steel billet’s strength by 30%, which allows for greater design capabilities. In essence, this makes the aforementioned iron Mizuno’s most versatile one yet.

In addition to the stability frame, the clubface is CNC milled from the sole up which in turn produces a larger minimum face thickness and increased ball speeds across the face on all strikes. Weight is also removed from the face which promotes a lower and deeper center of gravity, thus allowing players to flight their mid and long irons easier.

The folks at Mizuno know how serious you take your game, and the deliberate construction and painstaking research put into their irons reflect that. This new JPX919 line of irons is expertly crafted to provide you with shotmaking capability, forgiveness, and distance, and is, according to Mizuno, “Packed with your potential!”
