Recognized as one of the most iconic names in golf equipment, Callaway’s Big Bertha brand has been a hit since the driver bearing its name was introduced in 1991. Over 25 years later, the name continues to symbolize power, force, and excellence.
Since 2014, Callaway has pushed the boundaries when it comes to innovation, design, and technology in their Big Bertha irons, and the new ’19 Big Bertha irons continue that evolution with their groundbreaking Suspended Energy Core technology that creates what Callaway calls, “Our easiest to launch distance iron.”
So, what is Suspended Energy Core? SEC features a revolutionary core design that delivers three key attributes:
The team at Callaway starts with a Metal Injection Molded (MIM’d) Tungsten Floating Weight suspends within their proprietary urethane microsphere material. That’s a lot of big, scientific-sounding words, but what it boils down to is the ability to allow them to position the club’s center of gravity (CoG) deeper by using a three-piece construction.
This, in turn, enables them to allow for a thinner, faster Face Cup construction while creating a higher launching ball flight. That combination produces enhanced-distance launch conditions that Callaway says they have never been able to create in an iron until now.
Not only do the Big Bertha ’19 Irons launch higher and farther, but also this game-improvement iron is extremely easy to hit in all conditions.
The Callaway Big Bertha ’19 Irons are decked out in a clean, Smoked PVD Finish which gives them an ultra-sleek, unforgettable look that promotes confidence and ability.
Premium stock shaft options include new Recoil ESX, Recoil ZT9, and KBS Max 90.
Callaway is also proud to introduce their new Big Bertha Hybrids, which are the first hybrids to combine their patented Jailbreak Technology with adjustability. Combining the popular Jailbreak Technology seen in their drivers and fairway woods with the adjustability features favored in today’s longer clubs, Callaway has created a hybrid that’s not only extremely long but also easy to launch with maximum forgiveness.
The synergy of the Jailbreak and Callaway’s Hyper Speed Face Cup equates to a level of power and distance not seen in a hybrid before. What makes them so easy to launch is the entirely new OptiFit Hosel System. This shorter, lighter hosel system saves weight, then repositions it elsewhere to optimize the center of gravity, creating high, effortless shots that seem to go forever.
A new, progressive head shape promotes confidence with its appealing looks along with high MOI technology that makes it super forgiving. As the cherry on top, new premium shafts – Recoil ESX and ZT9 – provide improved feel and control on all shots.
The Big Bertha Hybrids make for the ideal weapon in your arsenal, whether recovering out of a tricky lie in the rough, reaching a long par-3, or chipping to get up and down for par.
