As well as certain technologies may work in drivers, they are not always as effective in smaller-headed clubs. But Callaway engineers found a way to use a breakthrough feature in its popular Epic driver line, called Jailbreak, in its new Rogue hybrid offering.
The result, says Dr. Alan Hocknell, the companyās senior vice president of R&D, is āa tremendous achievementā that works to create what he claims in āour most powerful hybrid ever.ā

They keys to Jailbreak are the two steel bars that stiffen the body of each hybrid, putting more āimpact loadā on the face and promoting ball speed and distance. Employment of an ultra-thin, Carpenter 455 steel face is designed to be quick as well and work with the Hyper Speed face cup to maintain ball speed even on off-center hits, making it more forgiving.
At the same time, an Internal Standing Wave lets the technicians position the center of gravity lower and forward to encourage an easier and higher launch.
The Rogue hybrid is available in a standard version, and there is also a Rogue X, which boasts lighter weight, stronger lofts, and a slightly larger clubhead to maximize distance even more.
