Cobra Go to Dark Side for Better Player Forgiveness

Cobra King Forged TEC Black Irons

By Martin Hopley of Global Golf Post

With the King Forged TEC Black irons, Cobra has created a player’s iron with additional forgiveness in a dark finish.

The black look comes from the Dimonized Black Metal matte finish that is claimed to be the most durable sating black finish around to reduce the appearance of wear marks.

However, it is underneath this that makes the King Forged TEC Black different.

The steel heads feature a forges 4140 Chromoly stainless steel face that is thinner yet stronger to reduce weight for moment of inertia and increase ball speeds for distance.

Behind this, the Technology Enhanced Cavity is the three-word term for a carbon-fiber medallion that sits in the cavity to filter the vibrations so that the iron sounds and feels as good as it looks.

Forgiveness comes from increasing the MOI of the head by maximizing the resistance to twisting through impact, and this is done by inserting high-density tungsten weights in the heel and toe of the heads to move the center of gravity lower down and closer to the center.

To prove that all this is going to benefit your game, all the Forged TEC Black irons come with Cobra Connect sensors built into the grips, which then pair with the Arccos 360 smartphone app to track your distances for free.

Since Bryson DeChambeau came on board as one of their tour players, Cobra irons also have been offered in a single-length option and the King Forged TEC Black are no different.

Like the King F8 ONE length irons, the King Forged TEC Black ONE length have slightly different lies than normal, with the longer irons being a little more upright than standard and the short irons a touch flatter in order to deliver a more consistent trajectory.

Whichever length you go for, the Cobra Forged TEC Black irons should shine a new light on your game.
