At first glance, the latest iteration of the King LTD driver from Cobra Golf does not appear to have much new to offer other than a stylish black matte finish. After all, the club has most of the same features of the original LTD, which came out earlier this year and included a SpacePort design in the sole so engineers could position the center of gravity strategically; a TeXtreme Carbon composite crown; and a 811 titanium face with next-generation E9 zoning.
But a closer look reveals that this puppy, dubbed King LTD Black, is pushing the technological envelope by also using a Cobra Connect system powered by Arccos that allows golfers to track the distance and accuracy of every drive, thanks to an Arccos sensor being imbedded in the grip.
To garner that information, players need only to pair their club with the free Arccos Driver smartphone app. And by doing that, they also can access rangefinder GPS distances for the 40,000-odd courses for which Arccos has readings. At the same time, players can acquire exclusive Cobra content with the app, including product tech videos and golf tips from Cobra coaches and PGA Tour professionals.
The King LTD Black comes stock with a Lamkin UTX 360 grip and an Aldila Rogue Black 60-gram shaft, with custom models also available.
