Jordan Spieth | Valero Texas Open

SAN ANTONIO – It was almost four years since Jordan Spieth tasted victory on the PGA Tour. That all changed on Sunday, as the home state favorite closed with a 6-under 66 to win the Valero Texas Open for his first win since the 2017 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.

He now packs his bags for Augusta, where he will arrive not only as a past champion but as one of the favorites at the 2021 Masters Tournament.

“This is a monumental win for me,” Spieth said. “It’s been a long road. There were a lot of times that I didn’t know I would be here.”

Spieth clinched it with a 5-foot birdie putt on the 17th hole, eventually winning by two shots over Charley Hoffman. It was also first Spieth’s first win as a husband, his wife Annie making her first trip between the ropes on 18 green to greet her victorious spouse.
