Little Big Man. Not Dustin Hoffman.
Rickie Fowler. At 5’9″ and 150 lbs, he’s no giant.
But, somehow he’s crushing the ball.
The NBC team of announcers were amazed at his length off the tee. How he somehow finds “another gear” and gets more yardage.
How about some kudos to his equipment? Rickie not only overhauled his bag in the offseason, but he also switched to the Cobra KING LTD driver.
He’s not shy about talking about the driver.
“I’ve always been a fan of the long ball. You need to have an all-around game to win out here, but having a driver that sets you up can make a big difference. I started using the [Cobra King LTD] the end of last year and have been really happy with the performance,” he’s quoted as saying on PGATour.com.
“I don’t mind working the ball if I have to, but when it comes to my preferred shot, I’m a big fan of the straight ball. Just something with a good flight that fits in my window and hits fairways. That’s what I really like about this driver — the fact that I know I can get it out there and hit fairways with it.
“Look and feel are probably the most important things when I’m deciding on a new driver. I guess I’m old school in that aspect. There’s something to be said for that solid feel off the driver face, and the look of a classic shape and crown at address. For me, this is one of the best looking drivers I’ve used.”
I’m sure he’s got a few extra MPH in his back pocket when he needs it, but let’s throw a little praise to his new driver!
