You have to hand it to Brian Harman. With all the eyes on Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm and Pat Perez the little lefty stood tall. At just 5 feet, 7 inches Harman can be easily missed in comparison to the muscled monolith of Johnson but the pocket rocket failed to be intimidated by the number posted from the FedExCup leader and world No. 1.
With Johnson in the clubhouse at 9-under Harman stepped up on 17 and stiffed his approach to join the lead mark.
With the par-5 18th to play a birdie to finish seemed a more than reasonable ask but when his second went long and his third came out heavy and left nearly 30-feet it appeared a playoff was on the cards with Johnson, Pat Perez and possibly Jon Rahm.
But a sensational putt dropped and the 2014 John Deere Classic champion was back in the winner’s circle again.
Brian Harman moved from 32nd to ninth in the FedExCup standings ranking inside of the top-10 for the second time in his career and first time since week 1 of the 2013-14 PGA TOUR season.
