A major change in the new ZXi irons starts before the clubhead ever reaches its final shape.

Srixon’s i-FORGED technology combines Condensed Forging with controlled heat-softening procedures to strengthen high-stress areas of the head while preserving softer material properties elsewhere. The material surrounding the grooves has also been reinforced to improve durability over time.

Every second-generation ZXi iron is forged by Endo Manufacturing in Japan, giving Srixon the manufacturing precision needed to execute the different constructions across the lineup.

For golfers, the goal is straightforward: maintain the responsive feedback associated with Srixon’s forged irons while creating heads that can deliver the speed, stability or control each model is meant to provide.

AI Helps Put Weight Where Golfers Can Use It

The ZXi5, ZXi5+ and ZXiU feature Srixon’s new MainFrame iQ, which uses AI-assisted design and thousands of simulated impact scenarios to optimize the face structure.

Engineers were able to reduce face mass by as much as 8% and move that weight to other areas of the head. That redistribution is designed to generate more ball speed, increase MOI and produce more consistent results when impact moves away from center.

The ZXi7 takes a different approach with PureFrame iQ. An optimized forged ridge directly behind the sweet spot reinforces the primary impact area, helping create the solid response and stability accomplished players tend to prefer.

Weight placement also changes as the irons get shorter, with additional perimeter weighting in the longer clubs and more mass concentrated toward the center in the scoring irons for added precision.

The New ZXi5+ Fills a New Spot in the Lineup

For golfers who like the appearance of a players iron but would welcome some extra speed, the ZXi5+ may be the most interesting addition to this generation.

It is Srixon’s first fully forged hollow players-distance iron in the ZXi family, combining stronger lofts with a longer blade, wider sole and more forgiving construction. The profile remains relatively compact, giving players another option between the ZXi5 and Srixon’s larger ZXiR game-improvement irons.

That makes the ZXi5+ especially intriguing for golfers who want to gain distance without moving away from the cleaner shaping they prefer at address.

Tour Feedback Refines the Look Behind the Ball

Srixon worked with its global Tour staff to make the latest ZXi irons look a little sharper at setup.

Slightly thinner toplines and cleaner visual transitions give the family a more streamlined appearance, while blade length, offset and sole geometry vary according to the role of each model.

Those similarities also make it easier to build a combo set. A golfer might choose a ZXiU or ZXi5+ in the longest clubs, transition into ZXi5 through the middle and finish with ZXi7 scoring irons without creating a dramatic visual change from one model to the next.

Tour V.T. Sole Keeps Turf Interaction in the Equation

Srixon’s familiar Tour V.T. Sole returns with combinations of sole width, bounce and notching tailored to each head.

The design is intended to help the club move efficiently through the ground and maintain speed through impact, whether the ball is sitting on a tight fairway or a less-than-perfect lie.

That gives Srixon another way to tune each iron beyond what happens at the face. The ZXi7, ZXi5, ZXi5+ and ZXiU may serve different players, but the sole design remains an important part of how each club delivers consistent contact.
