Odyssey Insert Gets A Grip

whitehot2Odyssey has been putting White Hot inserts in its putter faces for more than 15 years, and not surprisingly, it has made many tweaks to that technology through the years. The newest ones were on display at this year’s PGA Merchandise Show when the clubmaker introduced the White Hot RX.

The dual-layer, injection-molded elastomer insert in this product has a softer core that is designed to provide better feel and an oval mesh pattern that company engineers have used with good results in the Metal-X and Odyssey Works models. They then added a textured, clear coat to the striking surface to help grip the ball so that it starts rolling more quickly and then stays on line.

fangThe White Hot RX is available in what company officials describe as seven tour-proven head shapes: #1, #2, #7, #9, Rossie, V-Line Fang and 2-Ball V-Line. Per usual, the clubs come with Golf Pride pistol grips standard. There is the option of upgrading to an Odyssey-branded SuperStroke grip, if so desired.
