Phantom X line revamped with 10 new models
For decades, Scotty Cameron has been the most in-demand putter designer in golf.
His company’s latest updates on the Phantom X line illustrate exactly why that’s so. Scotty Cameron has revamped its Phantom X mallet lines with 10 new models, seven available now (5, 5.5, 7, 7.5, 9, 9.5 and 12) and three to debut in mid-June (5.5s, 11 and 11.5).
All the Phantom X putters except the 12 utilize a precision-milled, 303 stainless steel face, and a new Pistolero Plus textured grip, which is less tapered at the bottom.
Two customizable heel-toe weights, a stepless steel shaft, and 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum sole and flange further define each model.
How to distinguish between the models? It boils down to shaft bend, alignment aids, some weight repositioning and features that can more easily accommodate putting strokes with a bit of arc.
Each model is available in 33, 34 and 35 inches. By the way, the ‘X’ in Phantom X is tied to the design of the sole plate. When the putter is soled, the ‘X’ is designed to promote ideal balance.
