Offering up a mid-season iron release, PING introduces its i210 and i500 iron sets. PING continues to build on the success of its noted i-Series iron lineup by offering enhanced technology and sleek designs for better players who want more improved forgiveness but with the shot-making capability and look of a traditional players iron.
For many of us, our first real set of irons growing up was a set of PINGs. The classic look, sound, and feel of those PINGs ingrained in us a sense of trust in the irons and the brand as a whole, and it’s that trust developed over the years that have made many golfers brand loyal to PING.
The i210s are poised to replace the popular i200s which are favored by Tour Pros like Lee Westwood and recent European Tour winner Brandon Stone. One of the main features of the i210s is their structural design and a progressive offset from long irons to mid and short irons. What does this mean? The long irons are more forgiving and hotter off the face, while at the same time, the mid and short irons offer superior precision and control. In other words, these irons offer the best of both worlds with improved distance and shot-making capabilities.
The i210s also feature a refined lead edge and sole profiles, which means they glide through the turf with ease, helping competition-focused players work the ball and shape shots with consistency.
The i210s feature a beautiful Hyrdropearl 2.0 chrome finish which helps repel water and improve contact from the rough and wet grass. You’ll also notice that the grooves in the PW and UW are closer together, meaning added friction for improved spin and distance control in the scoring zone.
Blending cavity-back forgiveness with the sleekness of a blade, the PING i210s technology and innovation combine with tradition and trust to create the modern players iron.
The i500s feature a screw in the toe of the club for a hollow-bodied construction throughout the set. The forged, variable thickness C300 maraging steel-face inset offers maximum distance in a players iron due to metalwood-like face flexing for increased ball speed and a high trajectory.
When it comes to looks, the i500s offer a beautiful, clean design, the head being compact with minimal offset and a traditional muscle-back look.
From a technology aspect, the muscle-back geometry helps players hinge the face toward the top, leading to increases in ball speed and distance.
Like the i210s, these irons come with a Hydropearl 2.0 chrome finish which is scratch and wear resistant and offers a premium, Tour-caliber look.
