Summer Special – Adams Golf

In yet another example of her incredible talent and no-fear mentality, Adams Golf Tour Staff Member Yani Tseng won the Wegmans LPGA Championship by 10 strokes at 19-under-par. With the win, Tseng became the youngest player (22) to win four majors.  She also matched the LPGA Tour record-low at a major and has won three of the tour’s last six majors. The only major she’s missing is the U.S. Women’s Open title, which she’ll have an opportunity to complete her career grand slam in two weeks at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Here’s what the world’s No. 1 player carried in her bag:

Speedline 9032LS driver – 9.5 deg.
Speedline FW – 14 deg. (3)
Idea a7 hybrid – 19 deg.
Idea a7 hybrid – 22 deg.
Idea Tech a4 irons (4-PW)

Mick Elliot from espn.com has a great story about Yani and how she arrived on the global stage of women’s golf:

When Tseng flipped on her television Saturday night before going to sleep on her 54-hole lead, she tuned in the Golf Channel to watch and self-critique. But it was not to study her golf. It was to listen to herself being interviewed and judge her communication efforts.

“I probably talk too much now,” she said with a giggle last week. “I try don’t be afraid to talk to people, the media, fans or friends. You know, just try to be free. That’s how I learn English so fast. I learn lots of American slang and from the book.”

It really doesn’t matter. Her statement Sunday was heard loud and clear.

The summer has heated up fast for the Adams Golf Tour Staff with 3 wins in the span of 1 week. Tom Watson started by winning the Senior PGA Championship on the first hole of a playoff.  Steve Wheatcroft ran away with the Nationwide Tour’s Melwood Prince George’s County Open, finishing a staggering 29-under Sunday for a record-breaking 12-stroke victory.  And Brittany Lincicome shot a 5-under-par 66 on Sunday to record her fourth career LPGA victory at the ShopRite LPGA Classic.

This magical week on Tour comes approximately 3 months after the Adams Golf Tour staff swept the weekend of Feb. 20 with wins on the PGA Tour (Aaron Baddeley – Northern Trust Open), the Champions Tour (Bernhard Langer – ACE Group Classic) and the LPGA Tour (Yani Tseng – Honday LPGA Thailand).
