TaylorMade Golf recently built off its hugely successful M family of irons by introducing the latest in game improvement irons, M CGB. Made for high ball flight with a low center of gravity and iron technologies that TaylorMade is known for, M CGB delivers powerful and forgiving playability in their fastest iron set to date.

The goal for the M CGB irons was to incorporate the signature technologies that made both the M1 and M2 irons incredibly successful — Speed Pocket, Face Slots, 360° undercut, Inverted Cone — while including new technologies that launch M CGB to the next level of performance. The combination of technology and a clubhead designed with high-MOI using Tungsten weighting and an ultra-thin leading edge result in an iron that delivers more full-face forgiveness than ever before.

TaylorMade’s engineers have been able to accomplish something remarkable by lowering the CG and adjusting the lofts to create an iron that launches the ball high and lands it soft. In fact, M CGB achieves the highest peak trajectory of any TaylorMade iron since 2012 (including the 2017 M2).

To further differentiate M CGB from other irons, TaylorMade’s engineers deviated from standard practices to advance their performance capabilities. While traditional game-improvement irons feature a progressive COR, meaning the launch condition increase from short iron to long iron, M CGB utilizes a consistent COR model with every iron, giving maximum ball speed, launch, and performance in every iron. TaylorMade was able to achieve constant COR by using consistently thin face thicknesses and utilizing Face Slots and Speed Pocket technology in every iron in the set. This produces optimized launch conditions throughout the set, regardless of which iron in the set the golfer is playing.

Each M CGB iron features four weight ports that house milled MIM (metal-injection-molded) tungsten weights to increase MOI and move the center of gravity low and back for higher launching shots.

M CGB irons are built with an increased draw-bias and tighter overall dispersion due in part to a redesigned and relocated Inverted Cone (closer to the toe). Additionally, the Speed Pocket has been redesigned to provide greater flexibility for faster ball speed. Last but not least, M CGB irons utilize TaylorMade’s Geocoustic technologies to create a fine-tuned sound and feel.

Taking decades worth of iron innovations and uniting them with new technologies, M CGB delivers a complete set of high-performance irons that are long, high, forgiving, and incredibly easy to hit.

The M CGB irons are available in 4-PW, AW, or SW (8-pieces) with Nippon NS Pro 840 steel shafts or UST Recoil 460 ES graphite shafts with a TaylorMade Dual Feel grip. Additionally, a variety of custom shaft and grip options are also available.
