Titleist Offers ‘Two For The Show’

Titleist Golf Balls

By John Steinbreder of Global Golf Post

Titleist came to last month’s PGA Merchandise Show with a pair of new golf ball offerings, one of which, Tour Soft, is coming to market for the first time, while the other is a revamped edition of Velocity.

Titleist Velocity Golf Balls, offered in velocity orange, velocity pink and VSI white.

Perhaps the most notable feature of Tour Soft, which is an entirely new ball that is taking the place of the recently discontinued NXT Tour line, is its core, which is the largest in company history and designed to produce both soft feel and high ball speed for “commanding distance.” The ball also boasts an ultra-thin 4CE grafted cover that is a proprietary blend of four materials and made to enhance “short-game control.” In addition, a spherically tiled 342-cuboctahedron dimple design is employed in an effort to improve aerodynamics and deliver a penetrating trajectory and consistent flight.

As for the latest generation of Velocity, it has been re-engineered with a softer, high-speed LSX core as a NaZ+ cover blend to produce extremely low spin and fast ball speed off the tee, for improved distance. At the time, a spherically tiled 328-tetrahedral dimple design is used to encourage higher flight and longer carry.
