TaylorMade unveils SIM2 drivers, fairways, hybrids and irons

SIM one, meet SIM2. TaylorMade Golf is launching the all-new SIM2 family of drivers, fairways, hybrids and irons, following up on the launch of the first set of SIMs introduced last year.

But the line of SIM2s is no carbon copy as TaylorMade has completely reconstructed the way it builds clubs.

Take the drivers, for instance, the SIM2, the SIM2 Max, and the SIM2 Max D. Building on the breakthrough performance of SIM (Shape in Motion), which created a more aerodynamic clubhead that helped increase speeds at the most important point of the swing – just before impact – the 2021 lineup features the addition of Forged Ring Construction.

Crafted from a lightweight and high-strength precision-milled aluminum, Forged Ring Construction unites the critical components of the driver head into a singular force that creates distance and forgiveness.

While all three drivers feature the company’s speed-injected Twist Face technology, the SIM2 features a midsize face and a low launch. The SIM2 Max and Max D have larger face sizes with the Max D offering a draw bias and the highest launch angle.

In the fairway category, TaylorMade refined the V Steel design in the original SIM to produce the SIM2 Titanium, the SIM2 Max, and SIM2 Max D, which provide enhanced turf interaction and playability from various lies. TaylorMade also has expanded its hybrid offerings to the SIM2 Rescue and SIM2 Max Rescue, the latter of which was designed with insights from PGA Tour stars Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy.

The lineup of irons includes the SIM2 Max and SIM2 Max OS, which are both game-improvement irons. They feature a new Cap Back Design that helps unlock greater distance and speed, and an evolved ECHO Damping System for better performance and feel.
