A Closer Look at Odyssey Damascus Milled Putters

Long before it found its way into a putter, Damascus steel built a reputation in a very different world. The layered metal was used in high-end knives and swords, prized for its strength, feel, and the unmistakable flowing patterns created through the forging process. Centuries later, that same craftsmanship has inspired a new generation of premium golf equipment.

Now, Odyssey is bringing Damascus steel to the putting green with two new models: the Odyssey #7 DB Damascus Milled Putter and Odyssey #7 CH Damascus Milled Putter.

The line blends classic metalworking inspiration with modern putter technology, creating something that stands out both visually and in performance.

What Makes Damascus Steel Different?

Odyssey Damascus Milled putters use layered forged steel to create unique face patterns.

Damascus steel is created by layering and forging multiple types of steel together. The process produces the signature wave-like patterns that make every insert slightly unique.

In Odyssey’s new putters, the Damascus steel is used in the face insert, designed to deliver a soft yet responsive feel at impact.

The insert also features Ai-designed contours on the back surface that help promote more consistent ball speed across the face, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern engineering.

Fully Milled Construction

Fully milled stainless steel construction gives Odyssey Damascus putters refined shaping.

Both putters feature fully milled stainless steel heads, a manufacturing process that appeals to golfers looking for precision and consistency.

Rather than using a cast head, Odyssey mills each putter from stainless steel to create refined shaping, cleaner lines, and detailed craftsmanship.

For many golfers, fully milled putters are associated with:

• more consistent feedback

• precise alignment

• solid feel at impact

• premium overall construction

No Two Inserts Look Exactly the Same

One of the more distinctive features of Damascus steel is its appearance.

Because the steel is layered and forged together, each insert develops its own flowing pattern. That gives every putter a slightly different look while maintaining the clean, understated aesthetic created by the blasted silver finish.

It’s a subtle detail, but one that gives the putters added character at address.

Understanding the Two Models

Odyssey #7 DB and #7 CH putters combine the same head shape with different toe flow designs.

Odyssey’s #7 shape remains one of the company’s most recognizable mallet designs thanks to its stability and alignment features.

Odyssey #7 DB Damascus Milled Putter

The DB model features a double-bend shaft design that generally fits golfers with a straighter putting stroke.

Odyssey #7 CH Damascus Milled Putter

The CH version uses a crank hosel design that creates more toe hang, making it a better fit for players with more arc in their stroke.

Both models also include:

• a Golf Pride-developed Tour Pistol grip

• Odyssey’s SL 90 shaft

• 20 grams of counterbalance weighting for added stability and tempo

A Unique Blend of Heritage and Technology

Golf equipment is constantly evolving, but Damascus steel brings a different kind of appeal to modern putter design.

Part of it is the craftsmanship. Part of it is the feel. And part of it is simply the fact that every insert carries its own visual identity.

With the new Damascus Milled line, Odyssey has taken a material long associated with handcrafted blades and brought it into one of the most important clubs in the bag.
