After 50 years in business, Bobick’s Golf joins the Worldwide Golf Shops family

Back in 1972, former caddy and greenskeeper John Bobick opened a modest shop selling golf equipment in a small Indiana town. The store’s reputation for outstanding selection and service helped it grow to five additional locations, and over the years, Bobick’s Golf became beloved by golfers across the Midwest. 

Shortly after celebrating its 50th anniversary earlier this year, the Bobick’s Golf flagship location in Fort Wayne, Indiana, was acquired by Worldwide Golf Shops – and customers can expect the same attention to detail and family atmosphere they’ve enjoyed over the past five decades.

“We are excited to be a part of the Worldwide Golf Shops team,” said Bobick’s Golf General Manager Tom Hipskind, who has been with the store for 34 years. “At first we were nervous about the transition, but it has been awesome thanks to all the help we have received from everyone there. We are looking forward to what being a part of a large company will have in store for us and our customers.”

In addition to its 7,000 square feet of retail space, the store also includes launch monitor club-fitting technology, golf simulators, indoor hitting bays, full-service club repair, major brand fitting carts and an indoor putting green. 

Bobick’s also features a 20-acre driving range featuring synthetic and natural grass-hitting areas, which is a nice benefit for customers who want to hit golf balls to get a true feel for their clubs before deciding to buy them.

As with other Worldwide Golf Shops locations, Bobick’s offers a first-class shopping experience with a knowledgeable staff. “Our staff is what really makes our store,” Hipskind said. “We have a lot of experienced people – three who have worked here for 22, 17, and 15 years. In addition, our full-service club repairman has been here for 25 years!”
