Odyssey TRTL Putters: What Golfers Should Know About the New Lineup

Odyssey’s newest putter family starts with a shape that’s hard to mistake.

The new TRTL lineup uses a distinctive hexagonal mid-mallet profile designed to sit cleanly behind the ball while giving Odyssey room to work with weighting, alignment and different hosel configurations.

Now available at Worldwide Golf, the family includes the TRTL CH, TRTL S, TRTL DB and TRTL MAX Square 2 Square, each pairing the new head design with a different putting setup.

A New Mid-Mallet Shape

TRTL uses a multi-material construction to move mass toward the outer portions of the head.

The steel body features a black PVD finish, while a lightweight ABS shell and aerospace-grade aluminum sole help redistribute weight toward the perimeter. That creates a high-MOI design intended to resist twisting when contact moves away from the center of the face.

The result is a compact mid-mallet with a substantial presence behind the ball and a construction focused on stability.

Four Weights Add Adjustability

Four interchangeable sole weights give golfers and fitters additional control over how the TRTL is configured.

The standard arrangement places the weights low and deep, but they can be repositioned toward the front, rear, heel or toe to alter center of gravity, toe-hang characteristics and launch dynamics.

Odyssey also offers additional weight kits separately for golfers who want to fine-tune the setup further.

Twin Track Frames the Ball

Two parallel sightlines give the TRTL a clear visual reference for alignment at address.

Alignment is integrated directly into the TRTL shape.

Odyssey’s Twin Track system uses two parallel sightlines that extend the length of the topline, creating a clear visual reference from address through impact.

The sole geometry also plays a role. Refined rake and camber help the head settle naturally on the green, while the shape is designed to maintain a consistent appearance when the ball rests on subtle slopes or uneven lies.

Ai-STAR Brings a New Feel

The face features Odyssey’s Ai-STAR dual-layer insert.

An aluminum inner layer is paired with a firmer urethane striking surface, with the AI-designed construction engineered to support consistent ball speed and forward roll across the face.

It also gives TRTL a firmer impact sensation and clear sound while retaining the feel characteristics associated with Odyssey inserts.

Four TRTL models pair the same head shape with different hosel and shaft configurations.

Odyssey TRTL CH Putter

The TRTL CH uses a crank hosel with full-shaft offset and moderate toe hang.

That configuration is designed for golfers with a slight arc in their putting stroke and provides the familiar appearance of a heel-mounted crank neck at address.

Odyssey TRTL S Putter

The TRTL S features a short slant neck with half-shaft offset.

It produces more toe hang and is suited to a moderate-arc stroke, giving golfers who prefer a little more face rotation a corresponding neck configuration within the TRTL family.

Odyssey TRTL DB Putter

The TRTL DB uses a double-bend shaft with three-quarter-shaft offset.

Its face-balanced setup is designed for golfers with a straighter putting motion and provides a clean connection between the shaft and mid-mallet head.

Odyssey TRTL MAX Square 2 Square Putter

The TRTL MAX Square 2 Square brings the shape into Odyssey’s zero-torque category.

Its center-shafted configuration places the shaft in relation to the center of gravity to reduce the tendency of the face to rotate during the stroke. The model has a toe-up balance and is designed around a straighter putting motion.

For golfers interested in Odyssey’s Square 2 Square concept, the TRTL MAX adds the new hexagonal head shape to that approach.

Finding the Right TRTL Setup

The four TRTL models give golfers multiple hosel and shaft configurations within the same design family, from the arc-friendly CH and S to the face-balanced DB and the larger, zero-torque MAX Square 2 Square.

The best choice comes down to how the putter moves through the stroke. Golfers who know whether their stroke arcs, stays straight or keeps the face square throughout can narrow the lineup quickly, and a professional putter fitting can confirm the right model and weight setup.
