    Pro Tips

    • Start With an Outfit: If you’re struggling to pick out individual golf clothes that you like, look up “golf outfits” on Google or Pinterest and find a look that you like. Search for apparel pieces on our site that will contribute to that outfit. Once you have an outfit complete, you can build one or two more and mix and match pieces to create infinite combinations for you to wear on the course.

    • Consider the Weather in Your Area: Think about the climate at your local course and let that guide your golf apparel purchases. Even if it isn’t remarkably cold or rainy, windy conditions or even extremely sunny ones can demand sleeve coverage to protect you from the elements. From your hat to your shoes and everything in between, consider the weather you’ll be playing in.

    • Prioritize Moisture-Wicking Fabric: Whether you’re in hot or cold weather, it is important to get moisture-wicking fabric in your golf attire to ensure that your clothes stay dry. This helps with sweat in the hot weather but also with precipitation in the cold or when you begin to sweat under your clothes when you layer up during colder rounds.

    Buyers’ Guide

We’ve made a guide that covers everything you’ll need for a complete golf outfit and what you should look for in each to meet most course dress codes:

Shirt A good golf shirt has a couple of requirements: A collar and a breathable, moisture-wicking fabric. The collar helps you keep within course regulations and keeps you looking sharp, and the fabric ensures that you’re comfortable playing golf.

Pants/Shorts You’ll likely want one pair of each, so you can play it based on the weather. Good golf shorts and pants follow the trend of the shirt by looking dressy but being made of athletic material to keep you comfortable. Shopping at a specialty golf online store will help you find a lot of options, since not many other settings require both.

Jacket Even if you live in a place where the weather is often warm, it is always good to have a jacket around just in case. For warmer climates, a light windbreaker should do the trick. For cold climates, a thicker stuffed jacket and maybe an additional light layering jacket underneath will keep you comfortable on the course.

Belt To keep your shirt tucked and your bottoms up where they should be, a quality belt is necessary. You don’t need to be as selective here, but punching up in price for a well-made belt will increase the longevity of your purchase.

Sock/Underwear While there aren’t a ton of “golf-specific” underwear and socks out there, getting socks with a dry-fit fabric and a little cushioning in the sole can help make walking the course more comfortable. Underwear should also be moisture-wicking and breathable, which will keep you dry and avoid chafing.

Hat and Shoes While these go beyond what is typically listed in our store’s “apparel” section, they are still vital to a golf outfit. Getting a hat to protect your eyes and/or neck from the sun, and golf shoes that provide the proper grip are both necessary for comfortable play.
