TaylorMade enters the Carbonwood age with Stealth equipment

Since the dawn of titanium in golf clubs, the engineers at TaylorMade knew the metal had its limits as far as performance in a driver.

So to take another technological leap – and after more than two decades of research and development – the company has introduced a new material that provides more ball speed, higher COR, and a lighter, but larger face.
The secret sauce? Carbon. And in the words of MC Hammer, titanium, “U Can’t Touch This.”

TaylorMade’s new Stealth Plus, Stealth, and Stealth HD drivers feature the company’s groundbreaking 60x Twist Face technology, which includes 60 layers of carbon sheets strategically arranged in the clubface to optimize energy transfer.

“We realized titanium faces could only take us so far and carbon would be the face material of the future,” explained Brian Bazzel, Vice President Product Creation at TaylorMade. “This breakthrough design of a lightweight carbon face in Stealth has created a whole new starting line, a new era of drivers, a new threshold of performance and a new platform for more innovation.”

The Stealth Plus is designed to provide the lowest amount of spin in the family, while the Stealth offers more MOI. The Stealth HD features a draw bias and the highest MOI.

TaylorMade also has introduced Stealth Plus and Stealth fairway metals as well as the Tour-inspired Stealth Plus Rescue and Stealth Rescue clubs.
