Titleist officials say that the softest golf ball in their lineup, DT TruSoft, is now even longer. That’s due to their re-engineering of its low compression core so that it generates less spin on drives. At the same time, they add, a new TruFlex cover has been designed to deliver soft feel around the green and more stopping power on putting surfaces as it also bolsters distance as a result of it being more aerodynamic than the original DT TruSoft.
“We’re meeting more and more golfers who believe you have to sacrifice distance in order to play a softer-feeling ball,” says Michael Mahoney, vice president of Titleist golf ball marketing. “that may certainly be the case for many of the lower-compression products in the market right now, but not DT TruSoft.
“When we launched DT TruSoft two years ago, it instantly became the longest ball in the category. Our R&D team has since discovered how to provide even more distance without impacting the remarkably soft feel that golfers tell us they love about this product.”
The new DT TruSoft golf ball is available in white and optic yellow models with play numbers 1-4.
