The Worldwide Golf Shops family grew a little bigger this year with the addition of The Golf Mart in Albuquerque, N.M., to the company. Previously owned by proprietor and golf enthusiast Dave Saunders, The Golf Mart is now the first New Mexico-based retail location for Worldwide Golf Shops.
“We’re excited to service the customers in the Albuquerque market,” said Rick Levy, Vice President of Operations for Worldwide Golf Shops. “New Mexico has a very good golf community. Dave Saunders did a great job for 31 years, and we’re looking forward to taking what he’s done and building on it.”
Saunders grew the shop from 1,500 square feet to close to 12,000 square feet during his tenure, and established a reputation for quality products and knowledgeable employees. Even with new management, those features will hold true, with the same friendly staff that the locale has had for years and, of course, the best in golf equipment. “We’re thrilled to give these customers an opportunity to buy with confidence,” said Levy.
The biggest change to come under Worldwide Golf Shops’ tenure was the complete remodel of the store. Features of the new space include multiple hitting bays with new state-of-the-art launch and tracking monitors, a new putting area with an expansive green where customers can try out the latest putters, and an updated look throughout the entire building.
“Customers can expect to see a fresh look, with updated tools and the latest products in this completely redone space,” said Levy. “In addition, the store now has an expanded inventory line with a broader and greater selection of golf merchandise at even better prices than before.”
To celebrate the new opening, The Golf Mart will be hosting monthly demo days through July so customers can see the latest equipment from TaylorMade, Callaway, Ping, Cobra, and more. Specific dates and details will be advertised through social media and local media channels to ensure customers are informed.
Customers can also stay informed of the store’s latest offerings via its catalog distributions three times a year – in the spring, for Father’s Day, and for the holidays. And beginning April 1, The Golf Mart in Albuquerque is offering a promotional giveaway of free Callaway golf balls for a year, which customers can enter to win by signing up for the catalog mailing list.
