One things that the average golfer wants to do is increase their distance. Incorporating exercise into your golf regime can help accomplish this. Wilson Staff Fitness Advisor Dave Davis teaches players an exercise known as the “Woodchop,” to strengthen the legs and gain more distance.
Dave Davis: Hi, my name is Dave Davis. I’m a golf performance coach at pro golf fitness performance. Today I’m going to show you an exercise that is going to help your rotation and also engage your kinematic sequence. Going to utilize active motion bar you’re going to place your hands on the white lines, we’re going to squat, we’re gonna rotate and then we’re gonna explode out and rotate. Now that was a slow motion so I’m gonna accelerate it, do three sets of 10 and do each side. You’ll be surprised just how far you hit the ball. Give it a try.
