Ping is augmenting its Sigma G series with a pair of new putter models, the Craz-E and the Tyne H. Both are mallets, and company engineers describe them as “highly forgiving.” They feature advances to Ping’s patented True Roll Face Technology as well as a multi-piece face employing a material called Pebax Elastomer, which is more commonly used in the soles of high-performance athletic shoes.

“By broadening the options for golfers with the Craz-E, an enduring classic, and the eye-catching Tyne H, we were able to introduce more players to the phenomenal feel and full-face forgiveness of the Sigma G putters,” says John A. Solheim, Ping’s chairman and chief executive officer. “The uniquely softer feel and satisfying sound come from the combination of high-grade elastomer and fully machined, aerospace-grade aluminum over the entire face.

“With improved ball-speed consistency and forgiveness, golfers will make more putts and gain confidence from any distance. And that is going to bring down scores.”

According to Solheim, previous iterations of that Craz-E have more than 70 wins on the professional tours over the years, including three major titles.

It utilizes a ball-width center sight line to help alignment and significant heel-toe and back weighting to improve stability and balance.

As for Tyne H, he adds, that putter is distinguished from the original Tyne by an Anser-style hosel designed to fit a slight arc stroke and create offset. The club also features a white top-rail sight line that contrasts with the black nickel finish to make it easier to put your putts on the paths you want.
