Using a foam roller can help golfers keep their back in shape

Your golf clubs are an essential part of the game, but a foam roller is perhaps one of the best pieces of equipment a golfer can own.

That’s the opinion of Jeremy Klinkhamer, physical therapist and owner of FitGolf Performance Centers in San Diego, who demonstrates several drills in this month’s video that will help you with to stretch, relax and straighten your back.

With the stresses of daily life and sitting behind a desk at work, golfers can develop a C-shape posture at address, and even athletic players can create the opposite shape in their lower back.

Neither are good for your game. But with these exercises you’ll get a good feeling of how flat your back should feel all the time.
