With the release of its M CGB irons, TaylorMade has grown its M family of clubs with what company officials describe as a super, game-improvement product. The line utilizes many of the technologies that have made the company’s M1 and M2 irons popular – such as Speed Pockets, Face Slots, 360-degree undercuts and Inverted Cones – as well as new advances that are designed to make these latest sticks long, high and easy to hit.

One of those new innovations involves the use of four ports that house tungsten weights made to increase the moment of inertia – and that work with an ultra-thin leading edge to help off-center hits go farther and straighter.

Those same components also move the center of gravity lower and farther back in the clubhead in an effort to promote higher-launching shots. And with a redesigned Inverted Cone now located in a position closer to the toe, TaylorMade engineers say they not only have endowed these clubs with a draw bias but also tightened the dispersion of shots hit with them.

In addition, a newly revamped Speed Pocket bolsters ball speed, and by extension distance.
