Some golfers are searching for a putter that feels steady under pressure. Others want a putter that helps quiet the hands and promotes a smoother stroke.
TaylorMade’s new Spider ZT Max family was built with both goals in mind.
Available now at Worldwide Golf, the Spider ZT Max lineup builds upon the company’s Spider Stability platform with a larger profile, high-MOI construction and three distinct configurations: Standard, Counterbalance and Long. While each model is designed for a different type of golfer, all share the same objective – helping create a more stable and repeatable putting stroke.
A Larger Spider Shape With a Purpose

At the heart of every Spider ZT Max putter is a familiar TaylorMade formula.
A lightweight aerospace-grade aluminum body is paired with four heavy corner weights that push mass toward the perimeter of the putter head. The goal is to increase stability throughout the stroke while helping maintain performance on off-center strikes.
TaylorMade also positions the shaft near the center of gravity, creating a toe-up orientation at address. New sole shaping was developed specifically around the design to help the putter sit flush against the ground when set behind the ball.
The result is a larger Spider profile designed to inspire confidence while maintaining the performance characteristics that have made Spider one of the most recognizable putter families in golf.
Refined Feel and Alignment

TaylorMade also focused heavily on feel and alignment throughout the Spider ZT Max lineup.
Each model features a black Pure Roll insert that combines Surlyn and aluminum construction. The insert incorporates 45-degree grooves designed to encourage forward roll while delivering a softer feel at impact.
On top of the putter, TaylorMade’s True Path alignment system has been updated with milled alignment lines sized to the width of a golf ball, providing a clear visual reference at address.
Spider ZT Max Standard
The Spider ZT Max Standard represents the most traditional option in the family.
Available in 33-, 34- and 35-inch lengths for both right- and left-handed golfers, it pairs the larger Spider ZT Max head with a KBS CT Putter 120 Stepless shaft and SuperStroke Off-Axis Tour 2.0 grip.
Golfers who prefer a conventional putter length but want the benefits of the larger Spider ZT Max platform may find the Standard model the easiest transition.
Spider ZT Max Counterbalance

For golfers seeking a smoother, more controlled stroke, TaylorMade offers the Spider ZT Max Counterbalance.
Available in 36- and 38-inch lengths, the Counterbalance model uses a heavier shaft and extended SuperStroke grip to move the balance point higher into the club.
This design is intended to reduce grip pressure and minimize excess hand action during the stroke. The result can be a more deliberate motion that many golfers find easier to repeat under pressure.
Golfers can choose between two grip configurations to further fine-tune the feel.
Spider ZT Max Long
The Spider ZT Max Long is designed for golfers who prefer a longer putter configuration.
Built at 46 inches with a heavier head, shaft and grip combination, the Long model is engineered to shift more of the stroke’s motion into the shoulders and arms while reducing wrist involvement.
The putter’s more upright lie angle complements the setup commonly used with longer putters and helps promote a pendulum-style motion throughout the stroke.
For golfers who prefer the feel of a longer putter or are looking to simplify their stroke mechanics, the Spider ZT Max Long provides a purpose-built option within the lineup.
Which Spider ZT Max Is Right for You?

One of the strengths of the Spider ZT Max family is that golfers can choose the configuration that best matches their preferred putting style.
Whether you prefer a traditional setup, a counterbalanced design or a longer putter configuration, Spider ZT Max offers multiple ways to experience TaylorMade’s latest approach to stability on the greens.
