The latest footwear offerings from Puma are dubbed Titantour Ignite Disc and Titantour Ignite Premium Disc, and those names reflect their use of a couple of technologies that the shoemaker has employed successfully in other products.
Start with the so-called Disc closure system, which Puma deployed in its running shoes some years ago and then featured in other athletic footwear products. Now comes a version made specifically for golf, with a “disc,” or reel, on top of the shoe, just to the outside of the tongue, that allows players to quickly and easily tighten or loosen the wire laces, for better fit.
Then, there is the Ignite foam that Puma utilized in previous golf footwear offerings, which is designed to enhance comfort as it makes the shoe more responsive and allows golfers to release energy more easily through the swing.
In addition, the Titantour Ignite Disc comes with a full-leather upper as well as a PU sock liner, while a new TPU outsole encases the midsole for greater stability and uses anatomically positioned flex grooves to provide better traction as they also allow the foot to move more naturally.
The difference in the premium version is found in the tonal colors of the leather uppers. That shoe also features a soft, Dual Density PU sock liner that is made to enhance comfort and feel even more.
While these editions of the Titantour Ignite Disc are where Puma is putting its primary focus in footwear, the company is also bringing out a Disc version of the Ignite Spikeless Sport that Bryson DeChambeau has been wearing on the PGA Tour.
